AUT Launches Diabetes Screening Campaign

The Nutrition and Dietetics Department at AUT launched its free diabetes screening campaign, in cooperation with the Lions Club and the Halat Municipality.

The event was attended by Mrs. Nathalie Merheb, District Commissioner of Jbeil, representing the Governor of Mount Lebanon, Judge Muhammad Makkawi; Mr. Toufic Al-Rai, mayor of Halat; Mr. Gaby Gebrayel, former governor and founder of Jbeil Universal Lions Club; Mr, Michel Gebran, president of the Jbeil District Mukhtars Association; Mr. Elie Gebrayel, mayor of Ghalboun; Mr. Naji El-Khoury, deputy mayor of Amchit; Dr. Hanna Jreige, dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology at AUT; as well as other personalities.

Mrs. Jessica Maalouf, chairperson of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, welcomed the audience and explained the purpose and scope of the campaign. Mr. Marcel Hinain, Vice President for External Relations and Development, listed the towns and villages in which the campaign will take place.
